Countless hours of labour goes into developing the EzStamp annual updates. We painstakingly compile all the data for new images, value updates for all grades and updating each database with the new issues, changed Scott #’s and scan in all the stamps.
EzStamp v8.0 was officially released May 24th, 2011 . This new version of Ezstamp will run on PC’s with XP, Vista, Win 7 , Win 8 & Win 10 ( both 32 & 64 bit ).
Since 1996, we have been producing continuous updates to EzStamp v7.77 and the amount of work involved is more than doubled by updating up both versions of EzStamp. As of March 1, 2013 , we will no longer be developing updates to v7.77 of EzStamp. Our goal is to develop more databases and scan more images for v8.0.
How does this affect users of EzStamp v7.77?
We will continue to support all questions and any issues you may have with your existing installation of EzStamp v7.77. We will continue to help users with any inquiries that may arise.
Why are we no longer producing updates to v7.77?
Several important reasons have influenced our decision.
1) With Microsoft’s announcement of no longer supporting XP past 2013, it is time to move on. Since the new EzStamp v8.0 runs perfectly on XP, all users can upgrade and migrate their data & inventory to EzStamp v8.0 with no data loss.
2) It has become too time intensive to maintain & update both versions of EzStamp. Our goal is to improve EzStamp and significantly increase the number of countries & we plan to scan tens of thousands on new stamps.
What are your options & how do you go about it?
There are several options available to you to choose from
A. Upgrade to EzStamp v8.0: This is the recommended path to take. Since EzStamp v8.0 will run on XP, you can continue to use your existing PC and all your existing data can be imported into EzStamp v8.0
B. You can continue to use your existing EzStamp v7.77 on your existing 32 bit PC. If you purchase a new PC, and do not want to upgrade to EzStamp v8.0 at this time, you must make sure you purchase Win 7 , Win 8 or Win 10 (32 bit versions). The old EzStamp v7.77 will NOT run on 64 bit systems.
