We use market values derived from many sources such as auction prices realized (online such as eBay & more traditional auction houses), dealers buy & sell lists, printed price lists, online stores & sites etc. We monitor changes in precious metal prices and these are accounted for in our calculations. Sources such as PCGS Price Guide and NGC Price Guides reflect real-time valuations and are a great source of current values for your reference.
But always keep in mind these are all relative values & the real value is determined by market conditions at the time you decide to sell. The market always determines the real value.
Use PCGS Photograde™ Online
With PCGS Photograde™, you can obtain the approximate grade of your coin by comparing it to the photo that most closely matches its appearance. After you’ve done that, you can go to the PCGS Price Guide to get a ballpark idea of how much the coin is worth.
For a definition of each coin grade to help you decide what to look for, please refer to the PCGS Grading guide
