Spot the Difference if you Can #9
These two USA issues from Oct. 17, 1991 look very similar and many collectors do not realize they are different stamps with separate catalog numbers. The one on the Bottom is Sc# 2580 & the top is Sc# 2581. The two stamps are not very expensive. Both can be purchased for about $1.25 each
The difference lies in the left most brick of the chimney stack. Sc# 2580 (Type I) has a small portion of a brick showing whereas Sc#2581 (Type II) is missing the brick & and olny shows mortar where the brick should be.
These stamps are not hard to find, but many collectors and dealers do not always recognize them as different stamps. Look carefully and you can find these varieties. We recently had a customer ask us what the difference was, as EzStamp only referred to them as Type 1 & II and did not explicitly show the varieties.
