Spot the Difference if you Can #8
These two New Zealand issues from April 16, 1915 look very similar and many collectors do not realize they are different stamps with separate catalog numbers. The one on the left is Sc# 160 & the other is Sc# 161. The two stamps are not very expensive. Sc# 160 is about double the value of Sc#161 in Mint condition ( $12 & $6 respectively).
The difference lies in King George V’s crown. Sc# 160 has 5 Jewels at bottom of Crown whereas Sc#161 has 3 Jewels at bottom of the Crown
These stamps are not hard to find, but many collectors and dealers do not always recognize them as different stamps. Look carefully and you can find these varieties.
