Spot the Difference if you Can #14

Many times, we get questions from customers such as ‘How do you tell the difference between …’. The following was one of those questions.
These two USA stamps are surprisingly similar but seem to confound many collectors as to how to tell them apart.
The two stamp shown here are Sc# 2723 & 2771.
They both have similar metrics.
Both were issued in 1993.
Both are tagged, and are printed using the Photogravure method. Both are perf 10.
So whats the difference?

Hank Williams Type of 1993 Differences

There are two major differences in the two stamps. One must look closely. The fist is in the Inscription on the Left reading up. Sc#2723 is 27½mm tall, while on Sc# 2771, it is only 27mm tall. Look closely at the corner & you will see one is not quite as tall.
The other difference is in the Tuning knobs on the guitar at the right. Sc#2723 only has 2 tuning knobs visible, while on 2771, the are 2 tuning knobs plus 2 other partial ones. I find the tuning knobs is the simplest way to distinguish the two stamps.

Sc#2723 is at Right & Sc#2771 is at left
