Spot the Difference if you Can #27
One of the truly rewarding aspects of collecting stamps, is the search for those stamps that you are missing from your collection and the hope that you will find those varieties that you know are out there, but are just not sure of what to look for. Sometimes, they can be quite valuable, and other times not. In my experience, some of the most difficult varieties and errors to find are those that are undervalued in most dealers storks or in catalog listings.
I recently found a stamp that I have been looking for for almost 10 years. I could not find it at any price. It is not valued very high in most catalogs, but it is an elusive variety to get your hands on.
The two stamps shown below were issued on November 1, 1966. One is worth about 100 times as much as the other in Mint or used condition. In my opinion, they are highly undervalued as they are pretty tough to find, both mint or used. I have yet to find them in used condition which is my preference for errors like this. Can you see the difference?
Look carefully at the stamps below & see if you can spot the difference.

The Stamp on the left is Scott #J2a & on the Right is Scott #J2. Scott#J2a has the country name (Overprinted) spelled incorrectly, where the 2nd & third letters are transposed .
These stamps are from Lesotho, formerly known as Basutoland, which was a British Protectorate. I have been trying to complete this collection for many years.
As mentioned, the stamp on the left is about 100 times more valuable than the other in mint or used condition. These differences are listed and imaged in EzStamp as shown below

The Same error exists for Sc#J1a. These stamps are hard to find. I am still searching for that one. If you find one, grab it before I do .
Happy hunting
